Privacy notice
This notice explains what information WeAreDestico collects through WeAreDestico.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. WeAreDestico is an independent practice founded by Sabrina Lui. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean WeAreDestico.
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you send a message through our contact form, we collect your name, your email address, the topic you choose (if any), and your message.
How you reached the form. With your message, we record a small amount of context about your visit: the page and link you used to reach the contact form, which website statement was showing when you clicked, the page you first landed on, the website that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, a link from one of our LinkedIn posts). This tells us what prompted your enquiry. It is stored only with the message you choose to send.
When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the device and browser you use, and your approximate location (derived from your IP address). Google Analytics uses cookies; see “Cookies and analytics” below.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, and we don’t buy information about you from other sources.
How we use your information
- To read and reply to your message, and to follow up on the conversation you started.
- To understand which content and pages lead people to get in touch, so we can improve the site and our Perspectives.
- To see, in aggregate, how the site is used and keep it working well.
- To protect the site and the form from spam and misuse.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising. We won’t add you to a mailing list.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to measure visits and how people move through the site. It sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
You can also block analytics by using your browser’s privacy settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
The contact-form context described above is not stored in cookies. It is held only in your browser for the length of your visit and is sent to us only if you submit the form.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They process information on our behalf and only to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the website and receives contact-form submissions |
| Google (Workspace) | Email, and the spreadsheet where we keep enquiries |
| Google (Analytics) | Website analytics |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. If WeAreDestico’s business is ever reorganized or sold, information may transfer as part of that change, and this notice would continue to apply to it.
Our service providers may store information in the United States or other countries.
How long we keep information
We keep contact-form messages and their context for as long as we need them to respond and to manage the relationship that follows, and for up to 24 months after our last exchange. We then delete them. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, the retention period set in our Analytics account.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop using it for analytics.
To make a request, email us at the address below. We’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example, California, the UK or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to enquiries is limited to the people at WeAreDestico who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don’t send confidential or sensitive information through the contact form.
Children
This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the site or our services change. We’ll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date.
